Upwards I soar,
On wings stretched wide.
My search, my escape,
A never ending glide.
Onwards I fly,
What is it I chase?
I am lost in this world,
I need a landing place.
Always looking, never finding,
Somewhere just for me.
A place of contentment,
The place I want to be.
But wait, do I see it?
I slowly fly down.
This place looks like heaven
I circle around.
I make my way closer,
And finally land.
It's stretched out before me
Like an open man's hand.
My heart sings with joy
My wings fold to rest.
I tuck myself in
My head on my chest.
But soon I am woken
This place is not mine.
It is claimed by another
Yet again. Another sign.
I am destined to wander
It seems, this lonely world.
I rise and move off
My tail tightly curled.
Upwards I soar,
On wings stretched wide.
My search, my escape,
My never ending glide.
